Early to mid 1930s cocktail dress with black satin skirt and abstract print rayon tie-neck top and short bishop sleeves. The skirt is an inch longer at the back. It has no lining. There are snap fasteners at the side seam.
COLOUR: Black, beige
MATERIAL: Silk satin and rayon
LABEL: None
CONDITION: Discolouration to the top and a hole on the front which has been patched from the rear.
The centre panel separating skirt and top is a newer addition and is a different satin to the original skirt. The skirt has areas where the silk is shattered and is discoloured, appearing dark green in areas. There are visible repairs.
The sleeves need new elastic.
